Will these plug-in adaptors become the next big thing?
These devices look like an oversized USB thumb drive and plug into the On-Board Diagnostics (OBD-II) port found in most cars made after 1996.
Some of these adaptors are already integrating with smart phones via a Bluetooth connection. This may open up a whole new market for app programmers.
Next step – custom car settings via a smart phone app? (perhaps a way to tweak engine performance to improve miles per gallon?)
